This guide will help you connect QClaw to Telegram, so you can control QClaw and receive responses directly through Telegram messages.


Prerequisites

Before getting started, make sure you have:

QClaw installed on your computer
A Telegram account

Overall Process

Create a Telegram Bot -> Get the Bot Token -> Configure QClaw

Detailed Steps:

Step 1: Create a Telegram Bot
1. Open Telegram on your phone or desktop
2. In the search bar, type BotFather and find the official account (verified with a blue checkmark ✓).
3. Tap Open to start a conversation.

4. In the BotFather chat, send the command: /newbot
BotFather will ask you a few questions:
1. Bot name: Choose a display name for your bot (e.g. QClaw)
2. Bot username: Choose a unique username that ends with _bot (e.g. YourNameQClaw_bot)

Step 2: Get the Bot Token
1. Once created, BotFather will reply with a message containing your Bot Token — a long string like 1234567890:AAF.... Copy this token.

2. Save this token, you will need it when configuring QClaw.

Step 3: Configure QClaw
1. Open QClaw on your computer.
2. Click the Channels button in the bottom-left corner.
3. Select "Telegram" from the list of platforms, then click "Configure".
4. Paste the Bot Token you copied in Step 2 into the token field.
5. Click "Connect" to complete the setup.
6. Now, you have Telegram Connected to your QClaw

Start Using

Once connected, go back to the BotFather conversation in Telegram. Click the bot link in BotFather’s reply (e.g. t.me/YourNameQClaw_bot). Tap Start and send a message — QClaw will process it on your computer and reply directly in the chat.
If the bot replies successfully, you have completed the QClaw–Telegram integration! 🎉

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Bot not responding? — Make sure QClaw is running on your computer and the Bot Token was pasted correctly.
2. Invalid token error? — Go back to BotFather and copy the token again. Make sure there are no extra spaces.
3. Want to change the bot name later? — Send /setname to BotFather to update the display name, or /setuserpic to set a profile picture.
