Step 1: Create a Telegram Bot

Open Telegram and Find BotFather


1. Open Telegram app
2. Search for: @BotFather
3. Select the official BotFather (blue checkmark ✓)

Create Your Bot


In BotFather chat, send:
/newbot

BotFather will respond:
"Alright, a new bot. How are we going to call it?"

Reply with your bot's name:
My QClaw

BotFather: "Good. Now let's give it a username."

Reply with username (must end in _bot):
MyNameQClaw_bot

Save Your Token


BotFather will give you:
"Done! Congratulations on your new bot..."

You'll see a token like:
123456789:ABCdefGHIjklMNOpqrSTUvwxyz

⚠️ SAVE THIS TOKEN - You'll need it!

Step 2: Connect Token to QClaw

Open QClaw Settings


1. Open QClaw
2. Settings → Channels → Telegram
3. Paste your token

Enter Token

Step 3: Start Using Your Bot

Find Your Bot


1. In Telegram, search for your bot's username
   (MyNameQClaw_bot from our example)
2. Click "Start" or send "/start"
3. QClaw will greet you!

Test Commands


Send: "Hello"
QClaw: "Hi! I'm your QClaw assistant..."

Send: "What can you do?"
QClaw: "I can help you with..."

Bot Management

Rename Your Bot


In BotFather:
/setname
Select your bot
Enter new name

Update Description


In BotFather:
/setdescription
Select your bot
Enter description text

Protect Your Token

✅ Never share in public channels
✅ Don't commit to git
✅ Store securely (password manager)

If Token Leaks


In BotFather:
/revoke

This generates a new token.
Update QClaw with the new token.
